It would benefit us to understand the nuances of leadership. Please note that the following list doesn't mean imply that one leadership position is preferable to another but that leader's priorities my conform to the size and structure of their organization.

  • The Small Business Leader - Leadership to a small business leader means meeting the demands of the biweekly payroll and cash flow, which does not allow for significant investment in leadership development.

  • The Division Leader - Leadership inside a large corporation is often more about managing political and personal agendas than anything else.

  • The Nonprofit Leader - To the nonprofit leader, leadership entails handing the board of directors appropriately, while overseeing the leadership team.

  • The Civic Leader - Leadership within city, state, or federal government demands tackling large bureaucratic game paying and managing key constituents.

  • The Political Leader - Leadership to the politician in typically about elections and fund-raising white overseeing his or her elections duties.

  • The Church Leader - Leadership to church leader is about managing a staff of volunteer's and overseeing church finances while serving as a spiritual role model, guide, and counselor.
